  • Yes, but then this is also the code that gets the most attention by Linux developers, also due to its broad user base. I guess some of the more static distributions like Fedora Core and other RPM-based ones have users that don't update their binaries as often as they could.

  • I'm sorry but I don't agree that obscurity makes Linux more secure. Indeed, any attacker can look at the source code and run a copy of Linux at any time. This is hardly "obscure".

  • As a Linux Oklahoman, I have to say I resent how much people try to tie this to the fact that this man is from Oklahoma. Now, I've been to Tuttle, and frankly I'm not surprised, but still, there are a lot of Oklahomans who would have had the patience to figure out what was going on before panicking.
